Help on the road
Older drivers are generally safer when driving a familiar route. A highway construction zone can make a familiar environment completely different, posing safety problems for older drivers. Before traveling, drivers can access information on the locations of current construction zones using 511.
511 is a free phone service that offers travel information throughout the Iowa. Travelers can access information on:
- Traffic warnings and updates.
- Highway construction information.
- Traffic information system.
- Road conditions.
